Wednesday Widsom | Finding the Meaning

by Megan on April 21, 2010

It is vitally important to support and encourage self-directed activities by the young child. Even if those activities appear meaning- less to us, they can have great purpose and significance for the child. The activities are not random and have a pattern and organization in keeping with the child’s level of mental ability.

We run the risk of impairing the child’s powers of concentration and attention if we don’t respect and value the young child’s self-initiated activity.

i agree. It’s important to let kids take the regins every once and a while. They learn more from their own mistakes if we allow them to try.
