Teacher Appreciation |It’s Not Too Late

by Queenie on July 1, 2010

Image of QueenieIts July and some of your kids got out of school last week while others are moving into their second week of vacation. This is a great time to have your kids write a note to their teachers celebrating them for something that they did this past year.

These fabulous little notes from you and your child will do wonders for your teacher.

Trust me, we rarely if ever hear any thank you.

Here is an insiders secret:We need them; we thrive on them- the constant pull of state standards, local performance test and our attempts at reaching every child needs to be refueled by a simple thank you or a story that captures a moment in time where our actions supported your child in a positive way.

When you do this, your teacher’s inbox or mailbox will be saturated with pure joy upon receipt of this little, yet incredible thank you note.

Thanks for this post, Queenie. You’ve seen my office, and how the walls are covered with these notes from parents and kids. It’s the place I go to work when I’m feeling overwhelmed and need inspiration. These letters are more important to me than any gift I’ve ever received.
